Small Game, Predator and TrappingFrom shooting squirrels in your backyard to calling coyotes in Arizona. This forum now contains trapping information..
depends on what your using it for. For just sittin around havin a good time plinkin I'd say any round is good. Remington makes a decent 22 round in a 500 round cube. CCI makes a hollow point that travels just over 1300 ft/sec and thats a good round for squirrels.
in my opinion, 22LRs are pretty simple. use cheap ammo for plinking, and hollow points are a good choice for squirrels, but the RNL will do the trick as well. and the difference between LR and magnum is that the magnum is a longer round, and has higher ballistic properties. its a better choice for larger game (coyotes) and farther distances.
i like fed 40g all lead, even their copper jacket round is preferable over most other brands due to cost/dirty powders, but all of the rimfire rifles might shoot better with any brand & if your searching for the most accurate out of that gun buy several brands/weights & keep good records as to how each performed, all my rifles shoot federal good & maybe not the most accurate but minute of squirrel head ,mike300wm
