i was just out this morning and shot three. exciting to hunt i don't use dogs though

i hunt them without dogs... went out on thanksgiving with 8 other guys and we shot 26... went back out next weekend and shot 23 more... i couldnt believe it bc every other year we shoot 5 max

i hunt them without dogs as well, and the 3 other guys i go with and myself have gotten 16 cumulative in the past 4 days. whats the best way to get rabbits to break cover? we've been just kicking and shaking whatever fallen down trees and bushes we can. any tricks?

i'd just get yourself a good pair of carharts or something like that and just start walking through brush piles. thats what we do an we seem to have pretty good sucess that way. hope that helps

I hunt them with beagles. I have 6 dogs but only hunt 5 b/c one of them is really old. Took them out Sunday after church and killed 7 in front of them. Oh yeah, btw we only use 22's

Couple weekends ago we went hunting jackrabbits w/ spotlights killed 14 and a bonus hog. We have killed over 60 jacks in the last 4 months. We have only been hunting about five times so we are averaging over 10 per hunt. We shoot 17s at long ranges and 22s at the close ones. It is a blast. Going again this weekend hopefully the tally will be about 80 total then.

My favorite small game to hunt is rabbit. Love running my 2 beagles on them bunnies. Thinking of getting another one. Rabbit hunting wouldn't ever be as good again without a some hounds involved.
