I was out last night here, called one in, but missed, had a pack howling to the south so I moved thinking they were coming in and this loner came in from the north had to turn completely around with him at around 100yrds and rushed the shot and missed. Going to try it again every night I get a chance, I figure my success rate triples from hunting mornings and evenings.

I do not hunt them at night but have friends that do.. Here they take and put bait out on a frozen lake and call them out.. This is permit only here and they use a 2 cell flash light.. Most of the time the light is not needed as the snow covered frozen lakes provide enough light..

I don't know, I like calling at night too. Daytime is nice since you can see them coming from a ways out and have a time to get set up if needed. But nighttime is pretty fun since you don't know where they might show up...right behind you, 10 feet in front of ya etc...

I.ve tried hunting them at night here in wv, with zero success, But I think its because we just don't have a dense enough population unless you scout 24/7 to know what area they are in that day. I do however get one here on occasion.
Here's one that I got during our bear season, walked up on her in a snowstorm, laying down in the middle of a white pine thicket, shot her at 35 yards

However I did hunt a few days in ky, was there hunting deer but had no luck, there are however a bunch of coyotes, took these 2 bruisers out of about 8 that I saw

would like to try calling yotes in Casey county Ky.
