I have not had much experience with Bobcats, but I have caught quite a few red and grey foxes. If you are going to target foxes, you must have the right equipment. I use the 1 1/2" double coil spring traps and 1 3/4" double coil springs in real icy conditions. I have modified my trap chains with the proper swivels so that the foxes cannot get all twisted up in the chain. I use rubber gloves, rubber boots, a dirt screen to sift dirt over my sets, a trowel to dig the holes and some lure and fox urine. The basic set I use is the dirt hole set. There are a lot of books written about trapping and I would strongly recommend that you purchase some and read up on all the different sets and techniques as it would take up too much space to list them here. Best of luck to you. Bud-

i personally like too use #11 longsprings. but i mostly use victor #2 coils. the best way is to make a dirthole set. make sure you have a good trap bed. i agree with Makesr. read up. study. i try too stay scent free but its not really an issue to be honest. i just caught my first bobcat and wasnt a bit scent free. but its always best to be just incase. lol but for red fox ive caught most in flat sets. or hay sets. give them a try. but good luck too you. -Aus
