Default Coyote Hunting

I've really looked forward to learning how to coyote hunt here in Southern California. I live in Valencia, Ca and would like to find a good place to go and have some success. Any ideas? I'm totally new to the sport of coyote hunting but I have been a deer, hog, and varmint hunter for my entire life. It just looks like to much fun. Any info would be great.

Default Question On Coyote Hunting

Here in Wisconsin we have open Coyote hunting year around. The only time we can not is during deer gun season in the northern part of the state. The question I have is what do you do with one that you harvest?

you take a picture and walk away. OR if it doesnt have mange, which most shouldnt now you can make a nice mount. but i usually drag them off to the woods, thats what the farmers whos land i hunt say to do with em.

You can always sell the fur, even though they aren't worth much. Help pay for gas or shells.

I lived in San Diego many years ago, theree are tons of coyotes there. Try the big canyons, or, down by the border, there are lots of em' wearing clothes...

KyHunter I understand yotes are a problem in many ways. You owe it to that animal to do something with it. At least get it tanned. Are you hunting or killing? Are enemies the anti's would say ur killing, and it fuels their fight.

Advice for yote hunting. Buy a video and learn from the best. Their not like the trophy deer hunting videos. There out there hunting little dogs like u and me. Good Luck.

Well, I do it for farmers around here in northern ky, and most here abround this time of year have mange, bad. I told my dad if i got a nice one i'd mount it, but if its got mange or its scrawny, ill do what the farmers want me to do with them leave em in the fields as fertilizer.

Not knocking ya. Completely understand they can get pretty nasty. You got any cats by ya. When I was stationed at FT Campbell I used to see a bunch.
