wierd stuff

went out deer hunting the other day while driving i seen a little cotton tail. i got out my 22 put the crosshairs on em

and pow rabbit down. a little later i stop gut the rabbit and continue to my hunting spot about 5 mins later i seen 2 more rabbits i shoot one and the other gets away. when i get to my deer spot i pull the rabbit out of the truck and notice something fell off of it. it looked like maybe a slug from the back of the truck so i paid no attention. as i flipped the rabbit over to gut it i see two more of those things which werent slugs at all but leeches one was feeding on the rabbits neck the other under its front shoulder i felt like i was part of a scifi show

ive never seen anything like that before

This happens in both squirrels and rabbits,i call them ''wolfs'',a fly lays an egg right under the skin,and it lives in the rabbit until the 1st cold snap,and USUALLY goes away,i would not eat the rabbit that had wolfs in him.I'v talked to the old timers about it and they say do not eat um if they have bugs under the skin.Hope this helps

"Bott" flys bite warm blooded rodents and lay their eggs, Got a mouse for Mamalogy class years ago and the the Bott fly larva was almost as large as the Field Mouse!!!
