Default I need help.

Hi everyone. I am thinking about getting into small game hunting. Would a 20 gauge shotgun be good? Do you think I could shoot rabbits and squirrels in my backyard? If you can give me some tips on small game hunting that would be good too. Thanks.

Yeah a 20 guage will do great for small game. I have used on now for over twenty years and love it. I enjoy it for grouse, squirrel, rabbitt and even a couple of turkey hunts. The main thing is finding a gun that your comfortable with and have confidence in.

20ga is good for small game, although I much prefer a .410...but to each his own, there' s no reason you couldn' t use a 20ga for what you mentioned, especially since .410 ammo costs a bit more usually, but like I said, I prefer them by far, I never feel undergunned, but I don' t have to carry a ' full sized' gun, .410' s are light, especially in a single shot or double, and they can' t be beat in rabbit field, or sqrl trees. You don' t get as much shot in the meat if you' re going to eat them, and you don' t do as much damage to the pelt either. 20ga would let you hunt deer/turkey/geese/ducks better too, while a .410 should be reserved for pheasant sized game and smaller, unless in the hands of an expert (I' ve taken countless ducks and a few geese with .410' s, it' s illegal here for turkey' s and deer though).
