Default rabbit huntin the hard way

whats goin everybody? im just tryin to see if there are still that many people that go out there and "beat the bush" without any dogs for rabbit season. i've never hunted with dogs and i'm sure it's a lot more successful but i wanted to see if there is still anyone out there that does it the hard way like myself.

I have hunted both way and often like to hunt with quietly around old farms or along a creek for solitude sake and have often had good to great hunts.

My family ran rabbit dogs up until I left for college and my dad got too old to train and take care of them. For the last 25 years, all of our rabbit hunting has consisted of stomping brush. In southern Illinois that means briar bushes and wild rose bushes. Some of the folks that look down on small game hunting might have a change in attitude if they spent three or four hours stomping brush.

In FL you will get rattle snake bit in the Palmettos when reaching for dead rabbits............Have lost dogs to snake bites!

I have hunted them both ways and actually prefer hunting them solo or with one other person without dogs. I don't Rabbit hunt near as much as I once did, but still make it out several times a season.
