Where are you located where you can use that much bait. I remember in Wi when there was no limit, we used to put out manuer spreader loads of corn near each stand about a week before gun season but that was years ago

I guess you could if they were in season... But, there is no reason to shoot them. They are harmless creatures and are very amazing to watch.

I'll try to remember that next time i draw a bead, or maybe I'll just go ahead and remember all the good dogs lost to them around here.
