Trapping Ground hogs

RE: Trapping Ground hogs
Last time I set a snare to try to catch something I caught the neighbors cat haha
I like to shoot ground hogs though. They are pretty hard to get a hold of. My 22-250 doesn't have a scope on it right now so I have to use my .22 mag and you cant make a really far shot across a field or two with that.

You remind me of when I was a kid. My brother and I had this rocky slope that was covered in sumac bushes and woodchuck holes. We couldn't shoot them because we weren't supposed to be there, it was property that belonged to a stone quarry. So we did what teenagers do best, we came up with a plan to go in and trap groundhogs on the weekend when there were no workers present. We never did catch any chucks but rabbits used these holes for escape, so we set traps then walked the slope as you would if you were small game hunting. Instead of shooting the rabbits they would run in the hole and get caught in our traps.
