Alot of folks get their start into hunting with small game. This past season I was able to get a good friend of mine Chris into hunting, and I think that he is now in love with squirrel hunting. We only got to go twice. The first time we went it was aweful - TOO WINDY and froze to death, but the second trip we went on my buddy was able to get his first kill. It just shows your never too old to get into hunting.
He killed this fat grey squirrel with his 20 gauge winchester model 120 with #6 shot. Chris inherited his first and only gun from a family member and the winchester has been good to him...
Between his fat squirrel and a fat dove that I managed to shoot on the same day (this was right before dove season ended) we made up a nice squirrel/dove meat combined pot pie. It was a great day, but alittle slow this may have been due to the Coyote that kept skirting around the area just beyond reach...
