Shotgun for coyotes?

Does anyone ever use a 12 guage for coyote hunting? If so, what type of shot do you use?

I've got a Rem 870 ExpressSuper Mag 3 1/2". I also have a ton of Rem 00 buck shot.

What do you think would be a realisticmaximum rage with this set up?

i use 1187 with a turkey extra full 3" 1-7/8s lead bbs 50 yards is about max, cant use buck shot in ky and i like to get them close as possable.
