Default Finally Got my Coyote

Well I built a new 22-250 and have been trying to shoot a yote with it for a month now.. lol

Today i called in a decent female coyote, about 80yds. Couldn't believe the exit hole, size of a softball or a little bigger.. Used a rabbit distress call, she came a runnin.. Took a while and when it happened it happened quick.. Anyway.. Here is a picture!

What kind of loads are you shooting? I too, just built a .250 and have not had a chance to shoot a yote yet. But when I get my chance I'd like 1 pelt for keeps.

Which bipod do you have on it? If it is a Harris, which model and leg length?

Demo....
Congrats.... Illinois is a tough area to kill yotes... Just gettin in un-noticed is the most important thing... Next to the coyotes being there...

Nice Darky,

Thanks Guys!

It is a Harris.. This one is the 12 to 25 inch swivel model, nice for sitting up, have the shorter one too but you really have to lay down to use it.

As far as loads I'm using Federal Premium 55grain Nosler Ballistic Tip, Dang near cutting one hole at 100yds.. I tried hand loads but chamber is so tight the once fired ammo is being outperformed by the factory federal ammo. Just have to try different things, good luck!

And Yeah they can be hard to hunt here. I've done alot of hunting and walking. Very tough to come in without being seen or heard.
She was a nice one other than the fact that her pelt had some mange and so it really wasn't good for anything. I didn't keep it, got some ok pics though.

Another..
