Coyote "Rut" when is it? In Ohio that is?

The peak month for coyote breeding is Feb.

I didn't know that, coyotes had a rut.

It's pretty much the same in the U.S. When the days start to get longer they begin to go into there breading season. If you are hunting them, and two come to the call, always try to take the smaller one first. That tends to be the female, in the breading time the male may hang around just a bit longer after the shot.

Most animalshave a rut/breeding season. It's just that we usually associate it with deer.

Fox and Coyote rut in Ohio has always seemed to hit the heaviest around the last few weeks of the season. So from this point until the end of season things should be picking up.

I would say give it another week or two and you will be in the prime. Wehave beenstarting to see them in pairs around my area within the last couple days.
