Default Raccoon calling

I had heard about calling in raccoons and I want to give it a try sometime. I was wondering though what calls work the best andif it has to be done at night to be effective. thanks

I don't know where I read it but I heard you can do it during the day. You sit on the opposite side of the entrance hole into a den tree, sit probably 30 yards away in camo, set an electronic call probably 10 yards away from the tree and use like a coon squall, or coons fighting something, they should come right out of the hole to investigate, then you blast them, but make sure they are completely out of the hole. Ive never tried it, but it seems like it would work.

I hunt for fur and i use coon calling all the time! I call almost all day at different positions for 10-20 minute stands. I like to use johhny Stewarts Raccon Calls Volume 1:
Raccon Fight
Raccon and Squealing Bird
Raccon and Gray fox fight Squealing Bird
They all work good its just depends on the time and place. And for a good tip...since i use the electronic call. I always use a squeek mouth call in the stand to add to the reality
