Depends on what I'm trapping. Muskrat and coon I'll only leave 48 hours and move if no activity.

Mink, bobcat andcoyotes I'll leave the whole season if I know they are around. I'll set new locations but rarely pull these.

Beaver I'll leave for a week or so.

If there are coon in the area you should be catching them within 3-4 days before moving them If you know there is coon in the area and your not trapping anything try a diffrent bait

I have about a 200 yard stretch of small creek with feeder streams that I trap on one of my properties. Last year I had my traps there for almost two weeks and was still catching coons. Depending on the land, weather, how the coons run in the area, and how many you want to take from a given area, you can keep them out for quite awhile. If I have the time, I would prefer to keep my coon traps in place for at least a week before moving them, unless I take my quota of coons from that spot before then.
