Does anyone use elevated sharpened hooks hung with meat to get the coyote to jump and thus hook itself. Some from the next town over have been rumored to be using this with sucess.
how high do they need to be? i am just thinking this may be a cool way to get a coyote..
I have a very hard time beleiving the story.Sounds like someone had an idea and started a RUMOR!! At least that's what I hope.
If you want to catch them, learn to trap them or snare them. Both are effe4ctive if done properly. And if anyone thinks it's easy to trap them, they don't know much about trapping coyotes. And that is the reason that I think the "meat hanger hook story" is a RUMOR!!

I have heard of it,never saw it,but I think it's wrong and probably illegal in most states.Learn to hunt them or trap them and you will enjoy a very exciting time outdoors and kill them humanely.I know many states have year round seasons and no bag limits but they are still one of the most sporting animals to hunt on the planet,forget the meat hooks and just hunt,
Hard to belive a yote would impail itself on a hook, but I've seen things happen that were harder to belive.
People do it all the time.
It works, Its unethical.
How would you like it to see some one's pet or a expensive hunting dog hanging on the hook.

i wouldnt like to see a pet or huntning dog up there, I do hunt them, don't trap but have a lot of private land where I dont see a pet being an issue. as far as ethics goes, yah its a slow death but i would visit daily just the same as trappers and dispose of one with a quick bullet. Just wondering if its legal and how people do it. i want to do this, if legal in NY
I remeber something like this on here about a year ago this guy thought it was neat.My thought is huntingnet checks postings or they are reported to the huntingnet so why can,t they check into who is writeing stuff report them to the Game Wardens of that state so this can be stopped and this jerk charged. As hunters and anglers we try to protect our sport or stuff like this just helps the anti hunter out in shutting our sport down .I hope everyone understands what I,am trying to say.
