Why, in the name of all that is holy, would you want to hunt rabbits with an AK-47?!?!?! I have never seen a rabit return fire...a .22 caliber rifle will suffice.

To answer the question...no! You have to go through tons of paper just to own an AK-47. It is illegal to hunt anything with an AK-47.

My guess is that you are talking about Jackrabbits. In Idaho they are classed the same as coyotes and they have open season all year and you can hunt them with anything.
Don' t know for sure but the same is probably true in Nevada. A quick call to a fish and game department would probably get you the info you need.
It is probably legal to hunt them with an AK-47 (caliber?)but if you are not using very fragile bullets there would be real safety issues with lots of bullets ricocheting off into the distance. I would say it would not be a good idea using solidly constructed bullets.
Lots of people hunt them here with AR-15' s in .223 but they use fragile varmint style bullets to keep the bullets from ricocheting.

in some states you actually CAN hunt with a semi automatic rifle plinker...and the paper work usually isnt much more than owning any other firearm...just like a pistol...not much...about nevada...i dont know...check the game commisions web site if they have one.....

it' s not hard at all to get an ak-47 in nevada, in fact the local gun shop sells fully automatic silenced MP5' s... now THERE' S some paperwork for you... but all it really means is money... it' s not hard....
