Default Sold on .22 for squirrels

It was a great squirrel hunting season this year. I had previously only hunted with my 20 gauge shotgun, but this year I decided to hunt exclusively with my .22. What a blast! I had mounted a 4X scope on it and was great.

It did a lot for my hunting---taught me patience in waiting for a good shot---and it certainly honed my shooting skills. If you can take head shots on a squirrel---you can hit most anything. Already looking forward to next year.

If you think that .22 is fun, you ought to try the .17hmr.

22' s are all I use for the limb rats.it' s great for pratice for deer season.I use the same type scope on my 22 that I do on my deer rifle.
head shots only, less meat damage, unless you like the heads.
my dad always wanted to save the heads for the brains.he would get mad at me for hitting them in the head.he' s gone now and I still think about him when shooting limb rats..thats memories[:-]

Hunting squirrels with a .22 is great fun. Unfortunately, this past season I got my .22 about 3 days before the season went out.

Tree climber, my dad died when I was 9...I never had a single hunt with him.
