Both the 22-250 and the .243 will get the job done, no matter the bullet choice, but of you're looking for a caliber that can get the job done with minumal pelt damage, I'd suggest the .1 hm,,,,,just kidding. The .223 or the .204 are both coyote capable cartridges and will minimize pelt damage.

Ok I miss-read your post, I thought you ment after the fact. I shoot the .204, and if you hit even a little bone inside of 100yrds. it can tear a pelt pretty good. Thats with the 40 grn. expantion tips.
