Default Snares

Ok so i've already gotten 3 squirrels and there seems to be an abundance of them still. I've been using a havaheart box trap and im looking into making some snares. Can someone explain to me how to make and use snares.
Thanks

well up here in alaska we have used squirrel poles. get a branch or log of what ever length and put it up against one of the trees they are using the get some thin wire and secure it to the branch and make little slip knots on the other end so when they go running up the branch they run right in to it once they get catch they will fall off and it will help stay tight just check it every once in awhile. we caught like 12 in one field problem and they were tasty cooked on our stove in the tent beats a MRE anyday lol. well good luck

Squirrel poles are quite effective. I like to use 35/1000 safety wire. Be sure to put the knots on the bottom of the pole though so they tire and hang from it, rather than chew through the snare.
