Default I shot an Old Timer Coyote (Pictures)

Went hunting Monday, called in 2 coyotes in 2 separate stands, messed up on the first one as the coyote winded us and took off. Second coyote that came in was around 1550 hours and stopped him at about 60 yrds with a .223. Not a real big dog for his age, but I talked with our local Division of Wildlife and its about 10 yrs old. I apologize for the graphic picture, but found this interesting and wanted to share with forum.
Weather was partly cloudy, winds steady 5 to 15 mph, and about 45ยบ.
As you can see, all the canines are worn bad with one missing, and in the front top row, he only has one tooth left. I plan on boiling out this skull and will repost another pic later after it' s clean.
Who says you can' t teach an Old Dog new tricks!

You must be getting good with those calls. Called and fooled the old dog. If he would' ve lived another year or two, he' d probably have a hard time eating a fresh rabbit, let alone an old dried up carcass of any kind. I think ya did him a favor.

I think it is fascinating to age the animals we take. It gives a deeper appreciation for nature. This link is a chart for aging coyotes.http://photos.imageevent.com/peteh/c...th%20aging.jpg
Edit: I' m not sure if my link will work properly.

From what the Wildlife Manager said, a coyote can live to be 12 yrs in the wild. Given the teeth condition, he put this one at 10 yrs. He was surely going down hill as this wasn' t very heavy for a male dog.
