Default coyote gun thoughts

hey guys im lookin for a good coyote rifle for around $600 if possible, see im still in highschool and i want a fairly nice rifle but i dont want to go all out, depending on how it shoots when and if i buy one, i may end up buyin a bushmaster in the future once i cna afford it. Id like either a .243 or a .22-250 in a bolt action, im thinking about either a remington 700 cdl or a savage model 12 i think

Have you left money in the budget for glass? The scope is as important as the rifle.

Go for the .243 so you can be versitile and hunt deer as well. The 700 would be my choice.

Well if your going to hunt deer with it to yes go with the .243, but if its strictly a varmit gun, go witht he 22-250. Its IMO hands down the best varmit caliber. P.S. just use your .30-.30. Just Kidding.

Well, if your still in HS. Then you will get more guns when you get older. You said you want a coyote gun, that means, small cal., fast bullet, and very accurate. That means 204 IMO. Yeah ok the 243 and the 22-250 have been around longer, but since it came out in 04" alot of dogs have fallen to the new caliber. A 32 grn hollow point, or rapid expantion bullet at 4250 fps. If you want to hunt deer with the same rifle, go with the 243. If you want a varmit gun, go with the 204.

yeah what im gonna do is pull the scope off of my browning (3-9 x 40 weaver) not an ideal varmint scope, but im gonna use that till i can afford a better higher power scope, as for my BAR i plan on either putting the scope on it from old slug barrel or just use open sights, its a woods gun anyways.
