Default Decoy's?

Hi guys! I was just wondering if any of you folks use any decoy's other than the "jack in the box" or the fury critter on a spring. I'm still learning and would like some other options if there are any that you are using that I have not heard about. Let me know, any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks .. SHOTARYE

Yes, thers a bunch of options, I use a silloett ( sure i did"t spell that right ) of a coyote. comes in a pack with a deer fawn, red fox, and two cotton tails. I have had good luck with them, but you must remember that you still need to call effectivlly. The decoys are only good for keeping there attention off the shooter, caller ect. I think I found it at gander mountain. I"m sure other places carry them too. The nice thing is they are very lite and not hard to carry.

Coyote decoys work best now due to breeding season, yodeldog was talking about the renzo's predator pack of decoys which would be ideal due to their easy to carry features,a lifesize mount would also work but I wouldnt use one because you are going to mess it up and get it dirty, the decoys I use the rest of the season are the whirling woodpecker,a home made critter that a friend of mine calls the ratbird, and rigor rabbit you can pick up the store bought ones at bass pro or gander mountain.the ratbird has caught the eye of several coyotes since I made it,but this time of the year he is almost useless and I dont even take him.Good luck on your calling, the decoy's help distract the coyotes for a shot and give them visual confidence of something allowing better standing shots, but they do not make coyotes come in without good calling and a good stealthy set up, a decoy of a coyote whore wont kill a coyote if you dont call him into range close enough to see her hot but,so call good and you will be more successful.

Like the guys said, if you can't get a coyote to come to the call where you can see them, a decoy isn't going to fix that. A decoy is a distraction/attraction tool, but if they can't see it and you can't see them, the decoy is a useless tool.

Often, I'll use a feather on a string. Turkey feathers are easy to find, and they flutter with just a little bit of a breeze blowing. They won't call anything in, but the motion will help keep the focus off of you, so long as you are holding still and the feather is moving.
