Default Anyone doing any trapping??

The coons are eating the corn around my deer woods. they were everywhere durning the deer season.
I started last week with my live traps.I have traped 16 coons,3 possums,2 fox,I house cat.the traps are still set now so the count is on.
that should help the young turkeys a little this year.

I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest

remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.

I don' t have a lease myself, but i' ve helped a trapper this season with nutria. There is a bounty on them in louisiana and they are giving 4 dollars per tail and 1 dollar and 50 cents for the hide. Averaging about 300 per week with the occassional coon and beaver.

Just getting back into trapping after about 15 years. My how things have changed. Didn' t spend much time trapping (interferred with archery) but ended with 3 red fox, 6 rats and a mink. Have 3 beaver and will set another area tomorrow to try and reduce them for the owner.

My roommate and his partner(trapping) caught 113 coons and 70 rats, 5 minks, 9 skunks, and one blonde coon.

That was just on the weekend after school.
