Technically yes, but some are way better at it than most.

No, you cannot make any kind of dog run rabbits. Hounds are your best bet, with labs following but hounds are really the only rabbit-running dogs.

Beagles and other hounds aren't the only rabbit running breeds, they're just the most popular. A guy I know who would beg to differ runs them with beagles when he hunts with his buds, but his hands down favorite for when he hunts bunnies alone is his Jack Russell terrier. He isn't the first person I've known that used a breed other than hounds to run rabbits, many breeds of terrier will run them effectively. Obviously a more sedate breed such as english bulldogs and other short legged dogs won't work, but hounds are not the only choice.

I hunt rabbits with our $450 dollar house dog, which is a cairn terrior, and he does pretty good to!

Gotta love those little Jack Russles......I have heard how hunters
used to use Farrets to get a rabbit out of the hole...

My neighbor hunts coons with a Collie dog..She is a cold trailer
and barks tree as well...So you never know..If you train them
I think about any ole pot licker will hunt..
