Default yay!! maybe.......

tonite my dad was reading my fur fish and game and was reading an article on a perfect coonhound puppy..i think that trip down memory lane and the painting of a guy and his son and 2 coons treed in it and the walker on the tree set him off..we once treed 2 or 3 coons in one tree together with out walker and it looked like us..one spoting one shooting...hes pondering the idea of getting a dog!! the love of my life may come back! i was running coon dogs when i was 7 or 8...then when i was 12 we moved and the dogs couldnt come..now we got a new house and we have only one dog..a spoiled baby pitbull..the only problems might be barking in the urban surroundings and the pitbull hates anything that will take attention from him...we got my mome some hairless dog shes always wanted and he tried to eat it..you try to pet our cat he lived with from the day the dog came home and he chases the cat away...other than that i think we are good...i hope we get another coon dog..i miss them good old nights with the dogs..just the sound of them on the track and treeing...and now we moved within walking distance of one of our old favorite spots for quick runs...man i hope we get a dog!...any body here coonhunt??? you can relate to my feelings..just imagine running dogs for a while then when your old enough to work them yourself they are gone..what breed do you run if you have dogs?? we always ran walkers...never got into competitions or anything because our best dog we had wouldnt take other dogs treeing with him..my dad ran him one night with his friend and his dog...our dog treed and they got to the tree there was blood all over the snow..they thought hte dog got a coon on the ground but looks and seen dog tracks and found the other guys dog laying there not able to move because our dog about killed it...i guess the dog recovered a while later though...that dog was a great dog for competative hunting too..it would nail a track before you were ready and it was fast and got them in the tree fast...and i dont remember once not finding the coon except in big den trees that we knew were hollow and the coon got in it..he was so fast he caught a good couple on the ground...man i miss coon hunting!

Default RE: yay!! maybe.......

hope you get the dog you want.I have not been out with coon dogs in many years.I did love it also.
now all my dogs are deer dogs and that is also a great sound when they are on a track.

just watch the bull around the new dog,or it may not last to long.

I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest

remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.
