Default BHW & The Windy Day Red Fox *PIC*

Gang,

The best hunt of the year so far...

It was real windy, but in my face! I had the FP and JIB out 80 yds in a big field and I was nestled on a hedgerow. From 4:30 - 5:20, I saw nothing. Then 2 deer came into field. Suddenly, I heard a growl to my left and saw a canine in the field. The light was fading, so I could not tell what it was. It trotted right to me.. it was 10 feet in front of me and when it saw me, it's eyes grew big as plates... like a cartoon character.

It ran away and I could see it in the scope but it would not stop at my barking. Well, it did stop about 150 yds out and I had the wits to turn on the FP. As soon as the fox heard the duel rodent, it came back! It was broadside at approx 100 yds and I took the shot! Pure glory as the Remington 700 in .223 was true again!!!

Then I drove home and had some meatloaf as I told my wife I'd be home at 6:00 PM
