I used to have wolf rats at my back door.
My wife would through out the scraps for the neigbor bood dogs and cats.
I looked out the window one night and it looked like a wolf rat restaurant.
So me and a chair and a big peace of cardboard, with my trusty Ruger Mark 2
.22 caliber loaded with rat shot.
I shot a bunch of them fat buggers.
So it does good for rats and snakes around 10 feet or so.

1. Plop your butt down near some nut trees.
2. Wait
3. Shoot in head with .22 lr. No point in going if you're just going to shred them with a shotgun.
I've found squirrels to beVERY curious animals, at least during deer season.Trek into a timber with a.22 however, and they dissapear. I swear that they can ID different weapons from a distance.
