Default rabbit snares

I know there are commercial available snares that have a "cinch" which the wire passes through that will keep the snare tightly drawn around the animal. If your making your own with snare wire twisted into a loop and fed through itself, are there loop designs made to facilitate this? I will be using a bent sapling and the weight of the animal may be enough to keep it tight.

Default RE: rabbit snares

When making your own from scratch like "survival" snares you would just make a normal loop if you are using wire. If you are using a kind of cordage you make what's called a "prusik" (sp?) knot.
