Default traps stolen!!!!!

Checked traps this morning and got to the first set to see that it had been stolen. I could see that there had been a catch there, but it was a conibear and animals don't simply run away with them and the entire trap and stand was gone. caught a coon in another set farther down the field and then came to another set to find blood on the trail, but the conibear and stand were gone again!!!! lost 2 traps to trap thieves and i was on the edge of a corn field 50 yards from the road!!!!!!!! god i hate trap thiefs!!! just had to vent guys...

Sorry. Looks like they have your trap line spotted. You are legal, they are not. Hope things get better.

I hate thieves! (Are you staking or wiring the traps down realy solid or not) Most guys use drags just for foot holds. A coon sometimes has some fight left after getting hit with a body grip. Let him die in the woods where nobody will see them.

If I was in an area where theft was a concern, i would make a point of gettng there at first light to check the traps. But, if it was a coonhunter that took the trap and coon at 1AM, there is not much you can do about it.

Body grips dont usually cause bleeding. Mabe a predator. Mabe a thief. Time for a trail cam?

no, they don't bleed very often in a conibear, but i have had a couple bleed out of the noze before, or maybe the coon somehow only got partly in the trap and was still alive. they could have killed it
