Default .17 HRF for squirrels

Have you used a .17 HEF for squirrels? How did it work? Your opinion?

ugh assuming u mean the 17 hmr(hornady magnum rimfire), no, but ive seen pictures on varmint als website and it is very destructive on meat. course if ur like me ur a head shot only guy anyway so it shouldnt be a problem and more potent than ur normal 22 lr.

I've never tried this round either. Though about buying one, but already got 22mag. Heres some numbers; at 50y, muzzle velocity 2,215fps, 185ft-lbs energy, 17gr ballistic tip bullet. Sounds explosive if you know what I mean. Yeah you better make them all head shots, or find a recipe for squirrel burgers. With well placed shots would make an excellent choice for little critters, In my opinion better than the 22mag, because of flatter tragectory.

Yea headshot only if u want meat, but if ur just gettin rid of a no good a problem like a field rat/skunk/possum/armidillo then its sure to blow a nice hole in one.
