looking to buy my first varmint gun, im not trying to start a debate about the best gun or caliber, just looking for some knowledge about what works best for yotes and the like, also a good scopes

This is ask so many times, but it really is a matter of choice.There are alot of rifles that are great and there are lots of cartridges out there that are good.Just a pure coyote rifle cartridge combo's just about any .22 calibur cartridge(center fire)will work(I prefer my .220 swift) as far as rifle savage 12 is hard to beat,remington varmint,ruger m77 target,ect.Man that is hard question to answer cause so many good ones.I like bolt actions and some like the black rifles,some like heavy barrels some like standard,that is all in hunting style and methods.

Best advice is go to the shop and start holding rifles. The 223 will be the cheapest ammo, the 243 or 25-06 will be good for deer to (even though you didn't ask) but for me to get a good varmit rifle would be a 204 ruger, its fast its accurate and puts a heck of a wack on whatever it hits.

a 243 rifel would be really good for cyotes and animals like that
