Default mossberg 100 atr 243

well , got myself a mossy 100 atr in 243. I am hopeing this will be what i am looking for in an all round rifle. ( deer , coyote, target range fun ) what i would like to know is what are the pet loads you like in this caliber. with the gun i bought a box of fed prem 55 gr nosler balistic tip for the varmit stuff. ammo doesent apear to be cheep for this caliber so should i consider reloading ? any pit falls that you can give me on either the gun, or the ammo will be greatly apreciated. ( specificly how should i sight this puppy in ? read some article that said 2" low at 50 yards, 2'' high at 100 and that should put you dead on at 250.... is this correct ? ) [8D]straighten me out on this stuff

OK, was hopeing sombody had some recomendations on loads for the 243. so far i like it for what it is, a meat and potatoes gun. I got some 55 grain varmit loads so far, would like to know more about the bigger stuff. The synthetic stock isnt the best, but works for me ( do over would be walnut version ) the pre mounted scope is marginal also, but good start. next ones gona be a nikon. my complaints arent in caps, because you get what you pay for.

1.5" inches high at 100 yards would be a good starting point. Other than match loads, I only load 70 grain Sierra Blitzkings for my .243. It is a perfect round for small game like coyotes and PDs. Very explosive on both too, so if you are wanting to keep the hides of yotes, stear clear, even though a good shot won't exit. If you want them dead in one shot, use them.

As for hunting loads, pick something in the 100 grain area.

Let us know how it shoots. Post some pictures if you get a chance too.
