Who's using pistols...and with which scope?

Wondering who's using pistols to hunt small game and varmints.

And if you are using a pistol, which caliber and which scope are you using (brand name and power please).

I just bought a new Browning Buck Mark Hunter the other day, .22 LR of course, and I'm doing some research on scopes. Most of my pistol hunting will be with small game (squirrels, etc);I'll save my .17HMR rifle for anything with teeth.

I know the limitation of the .22 LR but I don't want to go overkill on the power when I don't have to.

This is my Ruger MK Ibefore i got it set up with a scope. It also has a "pac lite" tactical solutions barrell. I just mounted a new Bushnell Elite 2X6 on this pistol yesterday.

I'm working up some loads for my Python and hopefully I will get a chance at alittle bigger game,a deer or hog is what I'm loading for. Loading 158 XTP fnhp on top of 17 grains of Win 296,should go about 1200 fps and near 500+fp energy,iron sites.Don't want to mess up a pristene 6"Pyton with mounts.

Makes me homesick for the mountains of NM in the winter. I used to hunt jacks with a Nylon66, way back when, and used to have a blast....even with the open sights.

Wish I had known about coyote hunting back then...

22, 45 Colt, 44 Maggie. No scope. Sure, the center fires will kill further out, but when I think I need that much range, I go to rifle.
