Small Game, Predator and TrappingFrom shooting squirrels in your backyard to calling coyotes in Arizona. This forum now contains trapping information..
I decided to try making a bow with fiberglass tent poles that I found in my garage. It worked. I got three and tied them together and strung it, and the outcome was a draw weight of about 45 pounds. The arrow was hardly sluggish in flight but about the same speed as my bow I have now, but more powerful. My little invention was worth it, and it may seem rediculous but im going hunting for Deer with this bow, it is defianately at least 45 pounds draw weight, decent arrow speed, the works. Has any body ever made bows like this?
Lets dont and say we did. Wolf, man that is scary that you are actually going to try and shoot a deer with a bow made from tent poles. What are you going to use as an arrow, a curtain rods? Why not just use the bow you have now. Homemade bows are not the way to go man, unless you are making a long bow or recurve and you have some sort of directions. Not trying to come off as an a$$, but what happens if it breaks while you are shooting it. It could cause some serious damage.

The bow won't break. I can take it apart whenever I want, and I use my Carbon arrows on it and it flys well. I make bows out in the woods and I kill Rabbits all the time. Nothing to be scared about. I got the idea from a man on google who used Fiberglass Tent Poles to make a 3 pointed spear to catch a Catfish, and to make a bow. I tyryed it and it worked, I mean, a homemade bow doesn't have to be fancy or anything, if it shoots it shoots, it beets having to buy $400 Recurve's.
