Default Woodchucks

When are woodchucks most active? I found where some are living soI think I might set up outside of there a little ways with my .22 and tripod and don't want to be there the wrong time of day looking like a fool.

I see a lot of groundhogs from noon to about 3. But its really very hard to predict exactly what time theyll pop out. I believe he best time to hunt them is when the sun comes out just after a rain storm. Good luck!

young ones can't stand the heat so as soon as the dew dries they come out and retreat ti the burrow the hottest part of the day, old ones seem to be out in force from after 12 to about 4

I shoot most of mine about a hour before sunset when it just starts to cool down a little bit. I've killed them at all times of the day but that seems to be my most successful time.

i kill them at all times as well....in the spring, they will be out all day getting fat again. In the summer, they only really come out in the morning and in the evening. In the summer, I head out around 6 pm and catch them in many places trying to get one last meal...they do love wet grass more than anything I believe....got two this weekend both in the rain...missed 2 others

Right after the rain, best time hands down! And after the farms cut the fields.
