Default Coyote Eat Coyote??!!??!!

This may be a dum question but never stopped me before so..... Will a coyote eat a coyote. I know it may not matter to them if its their own kind but, I like meat but i wouldnt really like the thought of eating another human, even cooked. Again this may be a dum question but????? OOOO WELL. What sparked this is that I was driving down the road and i saw a dead coyote on top of a straw bail so i just wondered bc i have permission to hunt on land around there. Also do you think that coyote was shot or hit on the road??? I would guess shot bc they arent like alot of other animals and jump out in front of cars. The place i found this yote in was about 20 feet away from the road but was also at a good spot to be able to bag some yotes. Thanks for all input!!!

According to the tribesmen of Papua New Guinea humans taste similar to dogs, which they now eat as a substitute to avoid Kuru(yes, it's a real disease). I've had dog in the Phillipines, and it's not bad, so I don't plan to eat any humans anytime soon...

Will a 'yote eat another 'yote? I doubt it in this case, they prefer fresh meat to carrion and a fresh 'yote doesn't take kindly to having it's azz gnawed on by another 'yote. Besides, mice and rabbits are much easier for them to catch. At best you may get some target practice once the buzzards and varmints begin circling.

Will a coyote eat another coyote, it has been known to happen!

Human eating human has happened before too. I don't remember the details, but a large passenger plane crashed on a mountain many years ago, and after many days of not being rescued, many of the survivors agreed that if they were to die, the others had permission to eat them, and they did. Finally one of the survivors walked out and found help and several people were finally rescued!

there was a movie made about that story. "Alive" was the name of it, as the story depicts they took no pleasure in eating other people, but it was survival.

I'd bet they'd eat it w/in a couple days if 'yotes are heavy in your area. Maybe a fox? I know fox eat the heck out of deer guts here, but in Northern VA, we don't have many coyotes, so I'm no expert.

i see no reason why a coyote wouldnt eat another coyote. if they will eat dead deer that they come across, why wouldnt they eat a dead coyote?

also, i wouldnt say that the one you are talking about didnt get hit by a car, i guess its just as likely it got hit as it is that it got shot.

The farmers around my property in Michigan take the Yotes they shoot and hang them around the chicken coups to keep the other Yotes away! They swear by it! So to answer your question, I don't Know![8D]

I have left dead coyotes in the field where I shot them and have yet to see anything eating on them other than what appears to be a bird.
