Every rifle or shotgun I own is a rem. and it's a lot. I have never had a problem. You can't beat the quality and the price!!!

Savage IMO but it mostly depends on what you have confidence in and what you shoot well.

I'm a real Savage fan myself (hard to beat their accuracy out of the box), but the others are also proven.

There are many good brands on the market today. Honestly, most will shoot very well. Your budget is the number one issue. Once you've decided on a spending limit for gun and scope, then go shopping.
A .223 is an excellent cartridge that will do justice on coyotes, badgers, etc. It's a great round to reload for also!
Good luck.

Personally, for .223, I would prob go Browning A-bolt .223 WSSM. I am hopping to get an A-bolt in eight .223 WSSM or .243 WSSM in the next few years for predator hunting.
