Default rossi 22-250

They have a rossi 22-250 single shot on sale at gander mnt, here and I'm wondering if any one knows any think about this gun...does it kick like a mule...

I was thinking about a single shot also myself but a friend of mine on this board raised a valid point to my attention. What happens if there are 2 or 3 yotes that come in. More than likely you are not going to get another shot off while the dogs are still in range. Something to think about.
