I haven't used one but I can tell you right now that you're not going to hear good things about the 710.

As metaldonnieq has stated you're not going to hear good things about that gun. I have yet to see a good review of one anywhere online.

Look at Savage rifles. They are great shooters for a good price. I love mine in 25-06.

you can get some Rem model 700 for less than 800 bucks and they are good guns. The 710 should be taken off the market as it is junk. Savage makes great rifles for a good price as well.

A .243 is good but a little big in my opinion. I would go for a .223 or a .22-250.

if you watch you can get them MUCH cheaper. my walmater had one for 299 a while back. i, unfortuantely, didn't have any money or i would've bought every one they had on hand at that price.
