how well does it work? this would be for the standard .22 LR

Simply put...not well at all.

If you can plunk them in the brain or spine them...it will work. Otherwise you had better be into tracking orthrowing a lot of lead.

I'm still not sold on the 17HMR for yotes, either. I don't have enough experience to give them a thumbs up or down. I know that a 223 is ideal for my situation.

A .22 would work for like less than 50 yards in the head. I personally use a .223 and my dad uses a .204. I wouldnt recommend it unless you want to call them in really close which is hard to do without getting busted.

with a little practice... you could make it workbut i wouldnt go any lower than 17 HMR or a .22 mag. good luck
