You can usecoon pee or deer pee for cover scents and for an attractant you can use dead animals. I suggest that you use something fairly large for an animal so they cant drag it off and it leaves more scent out. Leave it in one spot for a few days so they find it then start hunting it. It works really well!!!

Are you wanting to call the coyotes, or bait them? Scents are not needed to effectively call coyotes. If you're going to try to bait them, and only have small critters to do so, use some wire to tie them to a post or small tree, otherwise the coyote will find it and simply drag it to a conceeled area before eating it!
