Default cougars

what is the best way to get a cougar in south Texas into my gun sights without using dogs?

There's three ways that I can think of to get a mountain lion. 1) hunt with/behind some good dogs, problem is you say you don't want to do this, but it's the most effective way. 2) call them in with distress calls, problem is that very few are ever called in, 3)just wonder around/spot and stalkin an area that you suspect there to be mtn. lions in, problem is, even fewer are killed like this!

you say outh texas so I suppose there isn't much snow to track. Maybe a heavy rain would give you enough soft ground to follow one until you caught him
