Default .22 mag question

I'm getting a .22 Mag in a couple of days. Want to use it for yotes, so I have a couple of questions. What's a good load to use for coyotes, and what would a decent scope be in the $100-$150 price range? Thanks

I have a Marlin 882 in .22 mag and it has a BSA scope on it. Its not close to a great scope but it gets the job done and i know its gonna hit where i want it to. I think i payed $80 to $120( I have a few BSA scopes now for most of my rifles). I know there are other brands out there that are better but im on a tight budget and BSA scopes work good for me.

Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 off ebay is right around $100 and isgreat scope, well worth the $150 it goes for in a store, it's just cheaper on ebay. 22mag is light for yotes, but if you are going to do it, I think there is a good 35 grBallistic tip that I think either hornady or winchester makes that is good.

dont recomend the 22 mag for coyotes. i have two of them Marlin 783 and Marlin 882. if you do shoot at a coyote, keep it within 100 yards, and use a little heavier grain bullet than normal.a 100 dollar scope isnt neccesary. i have a $30 Tasco 3x9x40 and gauranteed i can shoot just as acuratley than a gun with a $150 scope within 100 yards. i can drop squirrels from 80-100 yards granted i have a solid rest.

IMHO, if you buy a .22 mag get a Marlin. best quality bolt action rimfire than any other rifle brand and very affordable.

Yep, that's what I'm getting a Marlin. I'll definitely keep the shots in close, don't want to run the risk of just wounding an animal. I might be picking up the rifle tonight, hopefully I'll get a chance to take it to the range soon.
