Default BARSKA scopes

Hey guys,
I have been eying a new scope for a while for my Ruger .22-250, and although I'd like to... I can't really afford a $500+ Leopold. I have looked at a scope from Barska... can anyone tell me anything about them and if they are worth my money? I have found mostly good reviews, but a bad one also. I am using thiscombo for coyote and prairie dog hunts. Thanks for the help.

I put a Barska 6.5x20x50mm with the target crosshairs on 204 Ruger. I like it, It seems to work great for me. I got mine from cabelas for 60 bucks, but I think there around $80 now.

I bought a cheap one for my 22 plinker. The view is alot crisper than my simmons scope on my other plinker.I don't know what they are like in cold or damp weather yet though. But for a 20$ scope on a 22 for average conditions,So far it has performed as good or better than the simmons or tascos scopes that I have used.I do believe it has a crispier view than my aztec simmons all so.I would be interested in feed back of the adjustable power and the conditions they hold up to.

Thanks guys... I went to a few stores today and got the answer I expected when I asked a few of the employees about scopes... which is, you get what you pay for. The one employee, who actually seemed to know quite a bit about scopes, said he has never even heard of Barska, but the other store carries them. I found another bad review of them... but those things may be bias. I found a Nightforce 12-42*56mm Benchrest scope that I REALLY want, clear as a bell, super zoom power, the list goes on (F.O.V. @ 100yrds=2.1 ft) with a great reticle, and it costs $1,200 with lifetime warranty... so I think I may just need to save up my money for a scope that I know will be good. Not sure yet though. Any more thoughts?

Barska looks fairly new to the scope market to me; I have not had the chance to handle any. There are plenty of other good scope brands out there that are not as pricy as Leupold. Check out Burris, Nikon, Simmons (some board members like their Aetec model), Bushnell and Weaver. Also, some major sporting goods stores have a name brand and they put a lifetime warranty on it. The price is typically competitive. I would find it hard to justify 1200 dollars for a new scope, given what is out there that works.

try it and see if you like it. only loose $80 if you hate it, but save $1120if you like it. lifetime warranty is great to have, but you would have to go through15 barska scopes to break even with the 1200 dollar one.IMHO that is WAY WAY WAY to much for a scope. if sighted in properly, a 100 dollar scope will kill a coyote just the same as a $1200 one. save your money for calls, ammo, camo, MOUNTS possibly, and other equipment that could be used.

Good thoughts guys... I like the way you think Tembry... makes sense to me, the one I was thinking of buying is about $250.00, but same thought works. I think I will do that. Plus the fact that the scope I was looking at costs about $500 more than the rifle I was gonna put it on. Thanks guys, I'll let you know how it goes.
