i just arrived in ***an for my current duty station and when i get back to the states i was thinking about doing a cougar hunt and was wondering if a 357is enough to quickly dispatch a cougar? i know it will kill one but i just want to make sure it would be an ethical thing to do, i want a quick, clean kill.

Awhile back i talked to a guy who is avid mountain lion hunter here in AZ and he swears by a 22 hornet. he trees them with hounds and pops them with a 22 hornet. If a 22 hornet will do it Id imagine a 357 magnum will do it twice as good. but shot placement is everything

We dont have cougars around here but we do have black bears and thats what my uncle carrys with him when he goes and hunts em. So im sure that will do the job very nicely.
