Default Fur prices

I heard a rumor that coon hides might be up to as much as $20-$30 this fall. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything?

Seems like I read something about a bigger demand for them but I can't quote you a price. I'll check and get back to you later.

I too have heard of a bigger demand, but don't know what they will bring.

I think that that has been the cycle for some time. You get a year or two (or more) when the prices are dirt cheap, then they come up significantly. I would assume that it takes that long for the market glut from the good year to dwindle. So, i wouldn't be surprised, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I heard that this last seasons fur harvest was short. So then the demand this coming fall will be higher and so will prices. I plan to get into some coyotes starting this October and get wile the getting is good. Jovan

PS I heard $35-45 per dog. Not sure about other furbearers.

Here is Manitoba, last fall, even the lowly muskrat was going for as much as $8.00 per hide.
