RE: What do you guys
I use a 22-250 but lately been debating wether to step up to a 243 or not. I like using a 00 buck load from my 12 ga for shots out to 60 yards. those close shots need a quickly aimed shot and a shotgun helps in that respect.

For the most part, I use either two of my rifles, .308 Win. and .338 Lapua. Other than that, I take my trusty bow with me. I am up to 18 coyotes for 2006, a little less than 2005 at this point, but I have the whole rest of the year to break my record.

I prefer a rifle. Normally, I use a .223, second choice is my .25-06. But I have killed coyotes with a .222, 30-30 Win., and the last coyote I got was when I was out two weeks ago with my .308. That was the first kill I've made with my CETME.

I almost hesistated to fess up to that one. I knew you wouldn't be able to resist. I will say that it did a good job. Knocked the coyote over deader than a hammer. I did see an exit wound, but I missed most of his bones, so not bad. I noticed a big difference in how much blood was on the ground, though. The last coyote I shot never shed a drop of blood with the .223. This coyote was in pretty rough shape, and had a cancer on his stomach.
I had the .308 with me because I was expecting to run into some hogs. I also hadn't killed anything with it, and it was the only gun in my arsenal that hadn't been proven in the field yet.

I always have my .243 with me. It is awesome for coyotes. I did shoot I coyote with my shotgun this year but it was only because I was pheasant hunting and my 12 gauge was in my hand, where as my .243 was in the truck. It was kind of different but it was really cool and I killed it with 6 shot! No 00 Buck Shot for me!
