Small Game, Predator and TrappingFrom shooting squirrels in your backyard to calling coyotes in Arizona. This forum now contains trapping information..
Me and my brother went out the other day and we seen 7 coyotes and one of them had mange the tail on him was almost all gone. I was wondering what the mange is like around where you guys live?
Here in Southeast Nebraska, we have a big problem w/ the Yotes having mange. So far, i've Never seen a fox or bobcat w/ it.. I sure hope it stay's that way...
Mange is present in many places to one degree or another, it seems to be worse some years than others. A nasty way for even a Coyote to go so I hope you were able to put him out of his misery. This time of year a lot of Coyotes begin to shed their winter coats as well and may appear to be mangy, yet not be.
Very common here. The coyotesI see are usually one of two extremes: big, fat, and furry, or poor, thin and mangy. I see a lot more coyotes about that are thin and mangy, but for some reason I seem to call up a lot more that are fat and furry. Most of the mangy ones I get are from out the window shots.

It isn't surprising to see mangy yotes, since 70% of all the worlds population of coyotes have mange. Sadly, that is a fact.
